| I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday season, highlighted by the warm presence of family and friends and good food! I remember ever since I was a kid, I hated new years because I felt that advancing in time was too much change for me. And this year is no different. In fact, I hate new years moreso this year than ever. For four years, we've counted down to the year 2006. Though we have already been well-situated in our college lives for a quarter/semester, I still miss senior year of high school. I miss my friends. 2006 has been the year of my life, and it will always be alive in my heart. here's to...a new year. | | |
| After a weeklong debate on whether or not to go home for Veteran's Day Weekend, I acted on my homesickness and went home to see my friends and my parents. Was it the bestestestest deciscion I ever made. As much as I love Cal, school's been rough on me...and I felt like I lost a part of myself due to reasons... Going home was the best way to regenerate my spirits! My friends David, Jon, Tammy, Kevin, Thai, and Dallis gave me the best weekend in a long time (no alcohol involved either!), and I love them so much for accepting me for who I am. Only they can make me laugh like I'm on crack. It was great to see my parents too! I appreciate them a lot more now that I'm in college...I'm not sure why. It could be because with distance I realize how they have been there for me these past 18 years. *sighs happily* life is wonderful again! Yay for Thanksgiving! | | |
| I realized how easily and how often people walk and in out of our lives. Life is difficult in the sense that nurturing all relationships is nearly impossible and somewhat meaningless... If we've been out of contact lately, know that I haven't forgotten you... | | |
| It's been a good 5 weeks already, and although I approached Berkeley with a sense of wariness, I am lovin' it here! This weekend was my first full weekend here at Berkeley, and I tried so many new things for the first time! 1. Went Broomballing with ABA (Asian Business Association)! 2. Went to my first CAL Football Game! GO BEARS! 3. Locked myself out of my room. 4. Studied for a midterm! haha..and a lot more. This weekend was especially awesome because I met so many new people and we've become really good friends. I hope everyone has been adjusting well to their new environment. I am forging a new path...but memories don't die. | | |
| Goodbye Milpitas...again, Hello Berkeley!
First and foremost, a fresh new look for a whole new year, awaiting me 40 minutes away at the proud and glamorous campus of UC Berkeley! I hope I do a better job of blogging this year so my life there is not in obscurity to friends far away. (You guys better blog too!)
I'm moving to my dorm on SUNDAY! AHH! Can you believe it?! I hope I like it there. I think my greatest fear is being miserable at the one place everyone describes as utopia. And omg, I am so scared of the freshman fifteen! Being cursed with an all-you-can-eat buffet, I love food too much! I will control myself, I will, I will!
Talking about college, what happened to SUMMER?!
Oh right, my summer was comfortably spent in the lovely, sultry country of Malaysia. Well, Malaysia isn't really lovely. It's icky hot, smelly, dirty..You can't trust anyone and in the bathroom, people line up by the stall of their choice! CRAZY. But I heart Malaysia nonetheless! It has been good to me, and I will continue to spend my (or rather, my dad's) hard-earned dollars there in the near future.
I guess it's bon voyage...I'll miss you all!
We're off our separate ways...undergo our physical and intellectual transformation...but we'll always have our roots in Milpitas. <3
